Family festivals in the Pocono Mountains are the stars of weekends from late September through October. With fun fall activities ranging from lumberjack competitions and classic pumpkin picking to wine and beer tastings and food truck hopping, these are the festivals you donā€™t want to miss.

The Great Pocono Pumpkin Festival
Date: September 28, 2019 – October 27, 2019
Location: Country Junction – Worldā€™s Largest General Store

What says fall more than pumpkins? The Great Pocono Pumpkin Festival starts at the end of September and goes through the month of October because itā€™s one of the most popular family festivals in the Pocono Mountains. There’s delicious food and thousands of pumpkins to pick starting at only a few dollars each. The $10 funband includes daily activities for families like hayrides, corn mazes and a 3D haunted house. The weekends offer even more, including paintball, an escape room, bounce houses, dance parties and amusement rides.

Jim Thorpe Fall Foliage Festival
Date: October 5, 2019 – October 20, 2019
Location: Jim Thorpe, Pa.

Visit downtown Jim Thorpe during the first three weekends in October and witness the charming town in its marvelous colorful splendor. There are numerous town-wide events during each weekend of the festival including spooky ghost walks, scenic train rides, hay rides at Mauch Chunk Lake and a scarecrow contest. Autumn Timber Festival
Date: October 12, 2019 – October 13, 2019

The Autumn Timber Festival is one of the most thrilling family festivals in the Pocono Mountains! The weekend includes exciting lumberjack competitions that range from log rolling and axe throwing to speed climbing and chain saw carving. Thereā€™s also blacksmithing demos, scenic chairlift rides, a fortune telling booth, and live music and food vendors.

45th Annual Harvest Festival
Date: October 12, 2019 – October 13, 2019
Location: Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm
Price: $10/adult, $5/child (3-12)

Enjoy some good old country fun! The festival will feature historic foods like BBQ chicken, corn fritters and apple dumplings. A special childrenā€™s area will offer hands-on opportunities for the kids to try old-fashioned crafts and activities like pumpkin decorating. Re-enactors from both the PA 142nd Volunteer Infantry Company G Civil War and the NJ Frontier Guard will be encamped on the farm. All funds raised support the mission of the non-profit farm museum, so youā€™ll be supporting a great cause.

Skytop Lodge’s 14th Annual Harvest Lake Stroll is the perfect destination to eat, drink and take in the fall foliage around the pristine lake. Pocono Food Truck & Art Festival

The Pocono Food Truck & Art Festival brings together art, crafts and twenty-five of the best foods trucks from the Pocono Mountains, Lehigh Valley, New Jersey, New York City and Philadelphia. You can expect empanadas and tacos, BBQ, Italian, classic Philly cheesesteaks, ice cream and dozens of other sweet treats, alongside over 65 artists and crafters on two floors in the Hope Lodge at Shawnee Mountain.
