4 Thoughts on “10 Best Ghost Tours in the Northeast

  1. Well….Maryland, the Virginias, DC , New York , Pennsylvania…most are considered Mid Atlantic states and arent considered in the Northeast usually. Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticutt, Rhode Island, upstate New York? Sure! Quebec (if you want to skip over the border, ok) can be considered the Northeast. The Eastern Seaboard, maybe?…But thanks for the recommendations!

  2. Nantucket has (or at least had) a great ghost tour, walking through the back streets at night. On a whim, I went to the starting point in town (the big bank building that looks like a Greek temple), and asked the tour guide if it was possible to join a tour that evening; he said I was the only person interested that particular night, and normally he would say no, but “I need the money”. It was a lot of fun, and since it ended up being a private tour just for me, an even more intimate experience – just the two of us (and the ghosts) walking around in the dark.

This was almost 20 years ago, and I don’t know if he is still doing those tours, or if someone else has taken his place; but if you’re on the island, and you’ve done the traditional sites like the Whaling Museum (a must-see), the ghost tour offers a very different kind of fun – if it’s still happening.

  3. 42nd Annual Ghost Walk Olde Towne Portsmouth, Va-The Ghosts of the Olde Towne Portsmouth Ghost Walk are gearing up to tell their tales of love, loss, murder and mayhem!
Patrons are guided on a walking tour through the historic district of Olde Towne, Portsmouth. At each haunted house visitors hear costumed actors retell the legends of ghostly visitations and things that go bump in the night!
