Good luck getting an appointment for RMV services. I tried to book an appointment to get a Real ID 3 months before my license expires, and there were no available appointments for months. I was able to get an appointment at a State RMV.
Maps are no longer available on line!!! Free easily obtained maps were a major benefit of AAA. The website says to visit a local office to get maps.
When I went to the office i found that the maps now cost $1 each.
Disappointed in this big downgrade to my membership.
Hello Andrew.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about the recent changes to map availability at AAA. I understand how disappointing it must be to see these changes after being a loyal member for over 50 years.
For many years, AAA provided TourBooks and maps free of charge as part of your membership, thanks to our plentiful suppliers. However, following the pandemic, many of the providers we relied on for TourBook and map production have ceased operations. As a result, we transitioned to the current digital TourBook format in April 2021, and by early 2022, the print versions were no longer available. The digital version has proven to be more accurate and up-to-date, as printed versions quickly become outdated after publishing.
We truly value your membership and hope this explanation clarifies the reasoning behind our decision. Your feedback is important to us, and we are always striving to improve our services to better meet the needs of our valued members like you.
My question is: Is AAA worth it when your car is covered by warranty which also provides roadside assistance?
AAA can be helpful for some things, but you’ll have to determine if it’s worth the price. I was told that I get a discount at Auntie Annies, but the worker there said that she knows nothing about it. AAA has also gone woke and keeps pushing electric vehicles. Gotta remain unbiased…
No Matter what deal i try to get using AAA I never get a Better deal. I wont be Renewing in 2026.
Not Worth the Cost!

Yes!!! I have had a membership since I was 16 and started driving. Thankfully, it has not been used more than twice but it is well worth the money for the piece of mind that it provides. I love the fact now that AAA has offices that you can go into, if you need to versus just over the phone. In the 2 times I used the service 1 tow truck driver was phenomenal but the other was horrendous. He even damaged my car and was nasty. Even with the latest experience, I would recommend as it all comes down to the individual business coming to help you versus AAA overall.
Worth it, depends. Two years ago, I had to be towed twice, which was wonderful this option, however I was reminded that I only had one more free tow. Keeping in mind that I have 4 vehicles, this was not something I wanted to hear. I have been a member since 92, so obviously I do not use the tow option much, but I feel after 32 years of membership, being told my yearly quota was running low was uncalled for. I do pay over $100 per year, and rarely use any services.
Also, for the past two years, I have use AAA travel for one international trip and one trip to Hawaii. The flights were mess up on the international trip, although AAA made good up to about 75% of the screw up. On the stateside trip, I had worked with an agent and made it clear time and time again, I wanted a certain hotel and room location and he promised me I would get my wish. Once at the hotel, we had to fight for over an hour, since this hotel had NO information concerning our request, an awful way to start a vacation.
AAA is expensive, overall I am not sure it is worth it, but it all depends on your situation. As I said, I currently have 4 cars, but if I had one or two vehicles, I probably would not carry AAA.
After several years of membership and never using services I ran into a bad patch based upon settling out an accident. I found out the limitations of premier service and changed my membership to basic
Contemplating whether to renew or not renew. $175.00 to renew for two senior citizens is somewhat pricey for the services we utilize.

Oh my goodness a resounding YES! AAA is definitely worth it. When I was on vacation in Maine, my car died on me. And no, it was not the battery. I was able to contact AAA, a nice guy with a tow truck arrived, assessed the problem, which he could not fix, and towed the vehicle to a repair place in Rockland, Maine, at no cost to me. Of course I had to pay for the repair, but the tow, about 25 miles, cost me nothing and it could have cost me a great deal more. So thank you AAA, your service has always been prompt, your team of guys has always been great, again a big THANK YOU!!
