For more than 90 years, AAA has been committed to educating young people about safety in and around traffic. We want to engage young adults in our efforts, and our annual Traffic Safety Video Contest gives them the opportunity to demonstrate safe practices to their peers.
The AAA video contest provides high school students the opportunity to make an impact with their art by bringing attention to safety issues affecting kids and young adults. This year, AAA Northeast is awarding more than $11,000 in prize money.
The contest is open to students in grades 9- 12 from cities and counties within the AAA Northeast territory. This includes students residing within Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as parts of Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York.
Participating high school students are tasked with creating a 30-second PSA addressing the risks of marijuana-impaired driving. The video PSA should illustrate a powerful and creative message directed to drivers of any age. Entries should also focus on originality, creativity and execution, visual impact, and video and audio quality.
Videos will be made visible and open for voting starting May 16th. Five finalists will be determined by the number of ālikesā the entry receives on AAAās website. These five videos will be posted on the @AAANortheast Instagram feed on May 27th.
The grand prize winner will be determined by the number of ālikesā their PSA receives on Instagram! (Voting closes at noon on May 30th.)
The grand prize winning PSA will be showcased on all AAA Northeast social channels and the AAA Video Contest website on June 1st and receive $5,000. First, second, third and honorable mention winners will take home $3,000, $2,000, $1,000 and $500, respectively.
All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm on May 15th.
